Thanks guys! The engine does look pretty, but you can't hardly see it with all the other wires and crap running around it in the engine bay
And lodal, I don't know why I never mentioned it, but yes we did tab the KDP. It was something we made sure we got around to while the cover was off

We found the culprit of our oil leak! Somehow, when we put the pan back on, the gasket got wedged up there and broken at the rear. Tomorrow we are going to clean it up down there and then RTV that puppy up. We would have done it tonight, but I needed to get back to my apartment and I wasn't about to let my dad stay and do all that without me.
Actually, this is a little off-topic, but his birthday is this Sunday, so I'm putting a couple things together for him. I bought an android tablet last year and haven't hardly used it, but he has a couple times and liked it, so I told him I need it for school, and for partial payment for what he's done/doing to my truck, I'm giving him the tablet. The next part, however, is a little more tricky. He has a 2005 F-350 6.0L that, when he bought it, had a blown motor. So he rebuilt it and did all the upgrades to it, but now he's having some more issues. It's getting terrible gas mileage and it lags heavily. With a 100 horse tune and the EGR delete and the rev and speed limit removed, he can't even spin the tires. It's ridiculous. He found a guy that charges like $80 an hour to work on trucks, and the guy claims that he knows exactly what is wrong and it should only take him an hour to prove he is right and maybe even correct the issue. I REALLY wanted to pay to just have the dang thing fixed, whether it took the guy an hour or 8. But Dad has already said that he is going to take it and have him work on it for an hour and then, if he isn't sure about the issue, then Dad is just going to leave without $80. So, if he does get it to work, should I buy him a set of gauges? And if he doesn't, then I think I'm going to definitely invest in helping him get it fixed. I'm also taking him to the Rascal Flatts concert this Friday night, and I really hope he enjoys it.
Anyways, if you have any suggestions on upgrades or other ideas for my Dad's truck, hit me up, I wouldn't mind some help .

Now back to my truck. Tomorrow we fix the oil leak, fill'er back up with oil, let the RTV sit, and then hope that everything else holds up! The fuel system is entirely attached, and I'm still waiting on my order from Geno's to arrive so that the truck can start up on its own.
However, I'm still at a loss with the brights notification on the instrument cluster. I was reading around about some HID headlights and some people had that same issue after switching to their HIDs. I'm hoping that having the 95 and 98 service manuals from Geno's will help, but if anyone can already give me some help, that would be fantastic!
Until tomorrow

He already has the SCT Flash, is the LiveWire a heck of a lot better? Also, we've heard that the SCT Flash is the only one that has the EGR delete option for the 6.0L

I just ordered the PCM and hopefully it will be here by the weekend. I WANT MY BABY TO SHIFFFFFT!!!! Haha, I'll let you guys know how tonight goes!

That first gen dually looks like 1stgenfarmboy's truck but I could be wrong. Awesome project keep up the good work. It's cool to see you and your old man looking out for one another. I can't wait to get back home so me and my old man can start building our 2.6 puller.

You know, I think it is his. That name rings a bell at least.

Glad you like the truck! My Dad always has my back. Unfortunately it took some not so good things for him and I to get along as well as we do, but we are working on that too

And speaking of him always having my back, I wasn't able to make it back to the house tonight to work on the truck, but he said that he was able to completely seal up the oil pan with RTV except for one bolt, which I guess needs to be tapped to clean out the threads, so I'll do that tomorrow when I get out of my classes, fill 'er up with erl (oil ) and maybe have a no leak start! We move slowly, but consistently haha. If all goes well, she might move out of the barn to see what happens!

By the way, I'm going to be one of those guys that wants a name for his truck. What should I call her?

WE HAVE LIFTOFF!!!
What is left: one of the transmission cooler lines has a small hole in it, the bed is on but needs to be bolted down, and the front bumper and hood need to be reattached, and then the vacuum lines need to be completely hooked up so I can actually have brakes . They're only a little important you know
So I think that is literally all, and then we hope that the PCM we get works. My main concern is that it won't be here until sometime next week, even though I'm paying for the overnight shipping I really don't want to have to get crappy with the only guy from that company that has really tried to help me out.

Now, I have been thinking about what I'm getting my Dad for his birthday, and I'm not entirely sure yet, but I think I'm limited to a 1 inch shackle lift for the Jeep so that we can finally run 36's on it, or an exhaust for his truck. Maybe a Ford 8.8 for the Jeep so that the rear axle doesn't snap when we put the 36's on it
And I leave with one last question, the same as yesterday, what should I name my truck?
Until tomorrow

Hopefully you get a PCM that works for ya. Did he ever figure out what was wrong with his 6 leaker?

Not sure what to name it, I think it will get one eventually. My truck has a odd name but the guys at work started calling it "the pig ******". Dont know why or how it was thought up but it stuck so thats what shes know as.

Call her Agnes... or Ragnarok...

nobody understands the latter one...

Your dad should rather run a D60 or D44 out back... dont mix mopar and ford...

and....

SCT LiveWire has the abilty of a Custom flash...

I forgot to mention one other issue I'm having, and it has to do with the Instrument Cluster. I have no lights basically. My light switch works and everything, but inside the instrument cluster I'm not getting any lights. I can flip the switch for inside the cab and have the inside cab light come on, but that's the only way I can see the instrument cluster at night. Any suggestions? I should be getting that CD manual from Geno's and maybe that will help me some, but I'm not sure. I'm even thinking about putting the 2001 gasser cluster back in to see if that changes anything (since the inside harness is the 2001 harness).
Also, angelic0-, What do you mean the SCT LiveWire has the ability of custom flash? I don't think I'm going to be able to afford it right now anyways, but I would still like to know for future reference. I figured that the SCT Flash also had custom flash too?

And a lot of people are saying to use the 8.8 simply because it can handle the larger tires and is extremely reliable. At this point, I have 3 different years of parts in my truck, I can't see how adding only one different model of part in the Jeep would be so confusing . Unless there is another reason for not mixing? I know that the 8.8 uses a different yolk adapter, which I would have to buy to get it running properly. I'm not sure about running the D44 or D60.
95 YJ Daily Driver - JeepForum.com
That is the actual thread I posted a while back on the tire upgrade, and at the bottom of the 1st page is a comparison of a couple different axles, and from what the comparison shows, the 8.8 is stronger than even the D60. If the D60 or D44 would hold up just as well with 36s as the 8.8 and either of those two is easier/cheaper to install, then I will weigh my decision at that point and see what is nearby. My new apartment is like 5 minutes away from our local Pic-a-Part, and last time I was there I saw a TON of Ford Explorers that probably had the 8.8 on them, so I know for a fact the 8.8 will be easy to get, but it's price and ease of install that I will have to take into consideration at that point.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

I take some of that Dana 60 statement back
I wasn't paying attention, the Dana 60 is a WHOLE lot stronger. However, I dont' want to run 8 lug axles, as I JUST bought these 36's that came with the rims and I don't want to switch rims with the axles. That would be a bit of a pain
