I run red fuel. Have for ever. Plus sometimes motor oil. The truck is 97 12v. Never had any prob. Now I got problems. When under 1500 rpm driving runs fine if you get on it it will slowly loose power if you keep the pedal down you get some popping and white smoke . I can dry rev the motor and around 2k as its building rpms it pops and some white smoke but it will stay at 2800r with no issues. It feels like its running out of fuel when its driven on the road. New air filter new fuel filter. Pulled tank and took a very nasty screen off bottom of white tube but I noticed another filter in the white tube thought it may still be good probly not. Any other things i can check before I pull tank again

Sounds like it could be a tired over flow valve.

Its in the injector pump. Its pretty much a banjo bolt with a small metal ball and spring in there. Over time the spring gets worn and allows fuel to pass through meaning you'll loose fuel pressure. I've read that people change them for preventative maintenance. Heres a pic of what it looks like and location:

There is a trick you can do to diagnose weather or not this is still good. It is said you can take a spring from a ball point pen, take the ofv apart and slide the extra spring inside the original (assuming this will stiffen the worn spring back out revitalizing fuel pressure) Never done it tho and don't plan on it so I don't know if it works. You can order a new one anywhere from 50-100 bucks.
