Default AFC foot questions.

Well I got my AFC off and discovered the very end of the foot is cut at an angle. Is there any certain reason for this? And is there anyone that can tell me any modifications I can do besides the washer swap for the diaphragm (if that's how it's spelled) and cutting 3/8" off the end of the foot? Looking to do all I can while it's off!

Is there anything else at all I can do while it's off? Anything to the intake, AFC, anything?
