Previous owner of my truck removed the wastegate from the turbo completely and welded the housing, so basically I have a non wastegated hx35. My truck will boost to about 40 pounds if at WOT but I try to keep it below 35, and Im not usually romping on it to much. My turbo shaft has some play, side to side, and up and down, but no in and out (toward cab, then toward front end). It doesnt appear to be rubbing the sides of the housing at all, and it doesnt make any wierd noises. Am I ok, or should I start considering options? If there are certain tolerances I can check with my feeler gauges, im working on teh truck friday, sorry to sound like a moron but I just want to keep everything in check the truck is still kinda new to me thanks in advnace

 

Pretty sure unless the wheel is hitting the housing then you should be good!
