Mystery bolt at rear of p7100 pump
Ok guys I'm a little lost here. I was trying to explain to my neighbor who has a 96 what I did to my old Cummins. But I don't remember clearly.
12 years ago when I had my '97, I took it to the local Cummins guru for a little tune up. I already had a 4" exhaust and a AFE CAI. So he dives into the AFC housing.
This is what I remember. He slide the stock plate full front and then took off the back cover, removed a bolt and lock nut, then replaced the cover. It took all of 15 minutes.
But what bolt did he remove? There's nothing online that discusses this.
I know it made truck a bit of a handful to drive in heavy traffic, as it wound up like a bottle rocket. It took away a little bottom end but had an explosive mid range to it. I drove that truck for another 60k without any ill effects from it.
Does this make sense to anybody here? I don't think I dreamt it
