Engine misfire? Odd vibration
My motor has a wierd shake in relation to rpms. I think it's only one cylinder the way it shakes at idle. There is about 1-2seconds between the extra shake it has. It's not just the fact it's a 12 valve. The shake or miss speeds up along with rpms until about 1500 and then I can't feel it anymore. It only smokes for a second when I floor it and one puff when I cold start it. I just changed the fuel filter and I have been using the white bottle of diesel 911. I just started adding marine 2cycle when I'm not using the " diesel 911" when I first bought it I ran some sea foam for a couple of tanks. I also checked the valve lash, it was all within spec. My motor has 245,000 miles on it so maybe an injector is bad? I'm getting ready crack each injector line open one at a time and see if I can single out any injectors. I also found a write up on injector cleaning i might give that a shot. Any ideas?

I really dout it is your injecters. That is the first thing everyone says but I had both my trucks do the same thing. I changed injectors on both trucks and still had the miss. I had gotten it out of the 2wd but couldn't remember what I did. The other day I worked on my 4wd and got it out. I know the diesel mechenics will say not to do this but I figured out it was #4. I marked the barrel with a scribe so I would know where it was orginally. Lossened the injector line and the 2 nuts that hold the barrel. I moved it a little at a time retightening and starting engine to see if any improvement. Finally got it making small movements. But if you can't see any progress you can set it back to the orginally postion at the scribe line.
Cleaning the injecters before you start would be a good idea, very easy to do just make sure you put them back together excatly how they came apart.
Here is a pretty good site that shows how to clean injecters and other help.

Ive read moparman's injector write up and I have the supplies to do that. My #1 injector has rtv on it but it does not leak so I'm a little hesitant to crack it open. I do have a can of the "right stuff". I only have one injector line clamp does not having clamps cause the lines to fail earlier? Thanks
