I don't see how a rod out the side has anything to do with a head gasket.

Thanks everyone for your input. I'm waiting for the cummins gasket to come in so I can see it.

It blew the fire ring out of the cylinder and coolant was introduce into the cumbustion chamber @ high rpm's ..

Make senced now ?

yeah .. sucked to be the guy who did the HG .... oh wait that was me ... that's what I get for using a POS HG ... now I know
