Default Need advice... build cut short

OK, Need you smart peoples advice to make sure I dont do something stupid....I started to gather everything for a mass build but my money manager (wife) cut off my spending early ....something about wanting to eat or have food, I told her we have plenty of beer to survive....anywho) The big purchases are going to have to wait (i.e. clutch, turbo, exhaust, manifold, FASS) so I am stuck with only being able to do the things that I have currently.

Long story short, am I going to blow up if I put in a mix of just: Head studs, 5x.014 inj, 191 DVs, BHAF, 3" strait pipes, #5 fuel plate, 4K GSK, & 60# VS? And with this set up what should I tune the AFC to...18*? Im thinking it too much fuel right now and am thinking about waiting to put in the DVs....Any help would be really appreciated!

If you do the studs and gasket your engine will be fine! The only thing you will have to worry about is the clutch.... It is going to HATE all that added power

Yeah, thats what I was figuring, so I am trying to find a moderate mod to add some power that my stock clutch can handle. Im just not sure if its just a fuel plate; a fuel plate and timing (what timing I dont know: or fuel plat, timing and injectors.....Thats kinda why Im looking for some advice

My truck has a 5" straight pipe and a custom 0 fuel plate w/ afc tuning (aka cranked starwheel). When I floor it it will slip the clutch but it is very controllable. It will start slipping only at about 3/4 throttle so if I stay below that im usually fine. That being said I have a 0 and you have a 5 plate so it will be different for you. I think you should be fine if you put in the plate but only if you can discipline yourself to take it easy untill you get a clutch.

Hope it helps!

I would say to try and keep the stock clutch alive, I'd go with headstuds, 4k, 60 lb vs, and maybe do some tuning on the afc with the stock plate in. For clutch life, that's probably the best route to go for now.

I would keep the money for the head studs and throw it into something else. Since you are not pumping a ton of boost too it, I wouldnt worry about those. Throw a set of injectors in it and a 4k gsk then tune the afc and fuel plate. Next on the list you should get a 4"-5" exhaust to let her breathe. Then start looking into a turbo upgrade before you go doing the dv's and dumping too much fuel into it. Oh yea before anything, get some gauges if you dont have them yet (boost/pyro).

Good point made. If you are easy on your stock clutch with all the mods you will be fine for now..... But will you be able to stay out of the throttle with all that added power??? That is the question

I'd just let the parts sit if I could stand it. That'll annoy the wife seeing spent money unused and she'll have no choice but to allow you the extra needed money to do what you want and when she asks why don't you just do what you can for now tell her you can't with out possilbe engine damage. it's either that or put in every thing drive it as easy as possilbe when shes around and as hard when shes not takeing out the clutch giveing you the need to put in a new clutch.
