Bad Vibrations
Ok guys after checking fluids and bearings ad brakes I finally took my truck to the shop. They said it was the rear end the clutches have gone bad…. Apparently the limited slip disks have gone bad and are making the truck do that. Has this ever happened to you guys? I was under the impression that limited slip disks wore out over time but I did not know they could do this. The guy at the shop said he could fix it or put another axle under it. This is the tire guy I got to since I thought it was a front end issue I took it t him. After talking to him I called the guy my family goes to for transmission and rear end work he said its fairly common. I have about 6 options at this point. Here’s my question to you guys what should I do should I look for a Dana 80 or another 70 in good condition? Should I get mine fixed? (Dodge said 184.00 for the disks and 134 for both bearings) If I do get mine fixed should I put in new bearings (im trying to stay on the cheap) should I pull the limited slip and put in a locker? My last idea is my dad has a totaled 94 f250 with a sterling 10.25 I Might be able to use that but I imagine it would be a lot of work. And my last thought is to just keep driving it and try to ignore the vibrations is this a bad idea? Im stuck at what to do at this point guys. Thanks for any suggestions in advance.
