Default rough running cummins

Hi i just got a 94 cummins, it hasnt been run for 5 years, we got it running but it runs good for awhile but then it acts like its not getting enough fuel and then it starts to smoke badly and wants to die. Could it be that its just gummed up from sitting so long or is there a bigger problem? thanks

ya lp possibly. and fass has dodge direct replacement pumps that flow three times more fuel with a 4 year warranty for about $300. my stock pump leaked where the wires where riveted to the pump and caused a hard start and stumble issue from air getting in

fuel heater is under the injedction pump right beside the fuel lift pump. its easier to take it apart from under your truck
