Default Frame fabrication

so after discussing what mods i have planned my father insists the oem chassis will not hold up to 500+ HP... i think its a bit overkill to fab a complete frame from 2x8 .25" wall thickness rectangular tubing. it will be a DD and weekend offroad rig. please tell me im right.

Not only that... That much steel would KILL your power to weight ratio , could dominate in a demo derby tho.

Lol I wouldn't demo one of these trucks either. If you would want to beef anything up just put a little bit of plate steel here and there around the engine mounts, trans cross member, that kinda stuff.
