my 95 cummins has recently had pump and timing work beause the timing slipped now that she is going again it runs great to third gear but wont shift into 4th it will kick into overdrive for a sec then shift out then back in and out i was wandering if this could be a torque converter or trans or turbo plz help

 

no turbo for sure. what are the specs on your tranny? is it all stock. is this at a low speed or highway? when my TC went out it was chattery as hell but didnt hunt for gears much

Mine did the same it was the TPS, they are pricey but I cleaned mine and work like a champ. He is the instructions on cleaning, bout have way down the page.

Dodge diesel maintenance tips

 

You can replace the tps with a potientiometer (may not be spelled right) and it will make the tranny go into od and lockup at a set speed. About a 3 to 10 dollar fix from radio shack.

i had the same problem turned out the converter was bad also the shift cable was worn out pretty bad replaced both and works fine now.
