Used 5.9 cummins with locked up P pump
Mornin bombers.. Purchased a 1994 5.9 from a small out in the middle of nowhere salvage yard for just over scrap price. Guy said i am selling as scrap or a core because the motor is locked up. Ok, I'll take a chance on it. Got it home found out it will only turn about 90 degrees, first check killer dowl pin, nothing. so next take off head and nothing in cylinders to hold it up. Scratch head. Cant be bottom end, nothing clanging around down there, so pull gear off P-pump and found that the pump is locking up.
Any ideas on what could be locking up in pump. I am familiar with the VE but not the 7100. I saw in some exploded views there is a cam and governer weights that could be a possible failure point. No external damage.
Hoping there is no major damage to pump, want to do a total rebuild maybe in a few years to replace my first gen 5.9 in my ford.
