any one done it? im thinking about doing it. how would it look? i haul alot of trailers but nothing in my bed and i think it would be cool and custom.

 

i've seen one pic of one a long while back in a readers ride in one of the mags, didnt look too bad to me

if your truck is a reg cab long bed like in your avatar then their is a 3" difference in the wheelbase

 

yeah i know the difference in the wheel base i am going to move my axle and leaf springs back.

 

go for it, take plenty of pics of the process and post them up

 

im doin one right now. a 99 reg cab dually to a 97 extended cab. i will probably make it a dumping flatbed.

I saw a ex cab short bed dually near Youngstown Ohio. Had to take a second look. I think the guy said it was a 96 or 97. He wanted a dually to pull a fifth wheel camper but didnt want the longer wheelbase with a 8' bed. He said toughest part was the dually bed side fender extensions, he reworked the stock ones from the 8' bed to fit properly on the 6' bed. I thought he said there was a company out there that made the dually fenders for a 6' bed.
Anyway the truck looked good, dark blue with aluminum wheels with a 5.9 cummins and 4x4. Cought my eye. Something you dont see everyday...

 

Saw one in DP, guy used it to haul his fifth wheel around the country or something. He used maga cab dually fenders, looked pretty kool. Go for it man, and post plenty of pics too
