is it possible for me to put a extended cab short bed on my reg cab long bed frame? what parts would i have to change? what about wheel base? would i have to have a diesel cab or could i use a gas cab and change my dash? what would be the best thing to do. i found a good deal on a cab and bed. any help would be great

you could but the mounts will be off. if you look at the shape of a frame off a reg cab then a ext cab they are different. but anything can be done with enough $$$$

well all the body mounts line up except for the bed mount closest to the cab on the reg cab long bed. its to high up. i was going to cut it and make a mount.the frames dont look very different at all i dont think.

what u listedis all u have to do frame wise. it is labor intensive but worth it... best bet would prob b to buy a cheap parts truck with front end damage...like a x cab short bed v6 1500 2wd for dirt cheap and swap it over.... i looked in to this swap also...and im gonna do it eventually.

thats not bad. i found a rust free cab comes with fenders doors and all the interior stuff for 350 bucks. aND a bed for 200. idk if i should buy it or what. it seems like a good deal. will i have to put a body lift to compensate for the arch in the frame?

how much different are the wheel bases? enough to matter? and i will have to take out the dash and put it in the new cab right? what about the throttle cable and stuff? and i heard a rumor that the front fenders are really hard to get off.
