New transmisson has a problem?
Alright i recently had a full performance rebuild on my transmission and it worked great the first 2 months i had it but now with it getting cold {30-50*F} the first couple of times it tries to shift into 4th gear it will shift in and out 3 or 4 times before it stays. So i brought it back and the guy who built it and he says its a sensor on the motor not the tranny. What you guys think? Any body have this problem before? Sorry For Being So long! THANKS
Tps sensor, that's your problem for sure, set it to .98-1.02 volts. We install quite a few bell crank bushings which also "tighten" the movement up a bit. A good way to get a baseline is to adjust the bell crank to approx 124mm to the back of the bracket where the throttle linkage goes through
Guess I should throw in that if the starting voltages are within range and you gain voltage correctly that it could be a ground. You may find it required to adjust the throttle valve cable if throttle linkage is adjusted.

There are tons of threads and such with photos maybe someone will post. I don't have anything on my phone or I would help. I notch the sensor just a touch, adjust the linkage correctly and then it requires minimal adjustments.
One note is that while your doing it is a good time to replace any worn linkage, springs, and the bushings. It really reduces pedal effort and makes the truck more comfortable to drive. Also reduces chance of a hung throttle pedal

If it ends up not being the TPS sensor, there's a diode on the alternator that goes bad that cures this issue. Goerend sells a resistor, that taps into a line going to your PCM, that cures this problem. I installed it when I upgraded my tranny, and haven't had a single issue with it since then.

How would a person go about setting his tps himself? If you got any pictures that would greatly help.
