Default SPEAKER WIRING

I WAS TRYING TO PUT SOME NEW 6X9'S IN THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK AND THEN I SAW THAT EACH SIDE HAS SOMETHING MOUNTED TO IT WITH 6 WIRES.....WHEN I CUT THOSE WIRES FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE THE PASSENGER SIDE QUIT WORKING....OOPS. I FIGURED THERE WOULD BE 4 WIRES 2 GOING TO THE SPEAKER AND 2 GOING BACK TO THE TWEATER BUT THERE IS 6 TOTAL??? IM LOST NOW....DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT I SHOULD DO NOW??

Do you have one of the "special" sound systems. I know my Camaro with the Bose system had built in amps for the speakers. Maybe it's something like that.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Looking at the FSM, the Infinity sound system uses individual amps for the speakers and feeds through a "Radio Choke Relay." It also feeds wires up to the A-Pillar tweeters. Also, it looks as if both front speakers share a common ground, which would explain why you lost your other speaker.

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT A RADIO CHOKE RELAY DOES EITHER...CRAP. WELL I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT TAKING THAT AMPLIFIER THINGY OUT OF BOTH SIDES AND THEN WIRING THE TWEETERS UP WITH SOME BASS BLOCKERS OFF THE 6X9'S. THIS IS KIND OF WIERD BECAUSE THE TRUCK DIDNT HAVE AN INFINITY RADIO WHEN I GOT IT, MAYBE IT HAD BEEN CHANGED BEFORE....THANKS FOR THE HELP

Are you replacing the radio too, or is it already aftermarket?

Those pieces are your infiniti speaker amps. Which means you also have tweeters somewhere-I think in the 12v's, the tweeters were located higher up in the door panel. The problem with those amps is that if you cut them out of the system, you literally have to wire a whole new set of speaker wires to get your factory system to work-and your tweeters won't work anymore. The easy way to fix this, which is what I did on my old truck, is I cut the wires going from the amps to the speakers themselves, and then crimped on two new connectors to the ends, so I could just plug the amps into the new speakers. Might need to extend the wires a bit, and then ziptie the amps out of the way, inside the door. This way, with new speakers, and/or a new deck, your speaker system will work the same as factory, to include your tweeters, with minimal wiring modifications.
