I am planning on fixing my kdp in the next month or so.I hve looked on line at the kit.Its like $105 and I cant really understand how it could cost so much.its like $30 for just the gasket and it seems like I could make the cover.is that feasible?is there anything else I need?

 

Yes, you can definitely make the little "tab." You could also just peen over the hole. As far as the cover gasket, I just used grey permatex. While I had the cover off, I replaced the crank seal.

 

Note to self buy new crank seal.ok thanks for the input man.

Don't forget to take out the case bolts and locktite them. Mine were all finger tight.

 

I ground down a fender washer that fit the bolt, it was plenty big enough to cover the dowl pin. Pretty simple fix, much cheaper too
