Default clutch problems

So i have known that my truck has needed a clutch since the day i bought it, it slips pretty good in 5th but i really dont mind it, its just my beater/daily driver type truck. but the other day on my way home i noticed that after i started the truck i couldn't get it into gear, the clutch was not engaging but the pedal felt fine. so i put it in low and started it in gear and once the truck started it broke it free and clutch worked again, after that the clutch sort of worked intermittently, sometimes id have to press the pedal 5 or 6 times before it actually worked and let me switch gears. so this morning i looked and the fluid was a little low, i topped it off and drove the truck around and beat on the clutch a bit and it seems ok now but im woried that this is gonna happen again. one time i let the clutch out i swear i could hear a grinding noise. so what do you guys think? i was leaning towards a hung up slave cylinder, clogged line, air in the system, low fluid, or something like that but im kinda unsure now that i heard it make some grinding noises.

ideally id like to just pull the trans and take a look but i was supposed to take the truck out muding tomorrow and if i don't have the truck going nobody's going muding, im the only one with a 4x4 amongst my friends .

x2 on the slave cylinder... Cheaper to try that first than a clutch
