im getting ready to swap the 47rh and transfer case out of my dually for a nv4500 and transfercase, the transmission and transfer case has been sitting in a wrecked truck for a few years.

i was going to change the fluids out and i wanted to know how much gear oil the transmission needs and how much atf the transfer case needs? ive decided to go ahead and run royal purple in both and i was wondering how much each needed so i know how much to buy.

and any tips on the swap would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

 

4 quarts in the transmission 5 wont hurt either and just like all the tcases i do i just fill till up to the hole. i did the swap not to long ago if u need any odds and ends ill be more then glad to help

 

so 5 quarts of gear oil for the trans? how many bottles of atf will i need for the transfercase? i dont want to have to go back to town to get some if i dont have too . i was thinking buying 3 but idk if thats not enough or not.
