wastegate question??

wondering if "pinching" my wastegate or blocking it off would do any better? thanks guys

ya it will boost higher. but an hx35 isnt efficient over 30 lbs anyway. i have broke a shaft in a 35 by overspinning it

ok cool, how do you "pinch" the wastegate what are the steps?

on the turbo there is a small maybe 1/4in. rubber line. u can fold it over and put a small hose clamp on it. or cut it and stick a bolt in it

woah. ok my truck already has that done but I only get 20 pounds in overdrive. rest of the time i get 10-15 when accelerating. is something wrong?

I would say so. Is it smokey at all? Does it spool up quickly, get to 20psi fast?
Could be a wastegate issue.

Imo, make or buy one of these so you can control the boost instead of pinching off the line or blocking off the line. Better than blowin you turbo and havin all those nice little pieces go through you motor.

It smokes a little when you accelerate hard and when it goes into overdrive, if I'm at 35-40 mph, it'll smoke pretty good until i get the RPMs up

purchasing the boost elbow tomorrow, that will increase my boost as well correct? that what i understand it does you can control it.
