i have a 96 215 pump, with 4k gov. springs. the idle is too low now 400 rpm. it's real lopey, kinda missing, until about 800 rpm. then it clears up. if you rev it in neutral it revs all the way up but it sputters all the way up. don't seem to do it while driving. plenty of power. do yall think it could be timing? no air getting in fuel. i've tried everything i can think of.

haven't checked fuel pressure. not really much white smoke mostly black. it doesn't seem to matter hot or cold does same thing

 

You can adjust the idle. Should be about 700rpm. Sounds like your timing has slipped. my old 97 did the same thing. Adjusting the timing to about 16* fixed it.

 

if its not smokin white i wouldnt suspect the timing, how many miles on the injectors?

 

thats what i was thinking. i need get my brother to come down he has a snap on timing kit.

i put different injectors in and didnt change anything. what about the governor springs do u think they need adjusted
