Engine temp 191 in park rpm from 825- 850
Same temp in gear with brakes depressed 740-750

i cylced the new grid heater 4 times and the 5th wasnt very smooth

nothing out of the normal. my truck idles 750 warm. they just start dry if they havent been plugged in. white smoke is typical just keep it idled up and listen to the rods nock till she smooths out
however.... if it begins to break down at 1300 rpms or less some re timing will help a lot.

ya my cousin said the same thing he has an 01 he told me that the grid heater might not be getting any juice. i checked my terminals there is some corrosion ont the wires that lead to the relays that may be causing a short or the relays are shot but that might have been the problem

I have the same problem, and a list of a few others that can be found here if anyone has any input ( https://www.dieselbombers.com/12-val...ml#post1038710 ).

I live in Texas and even if it's only 34F or so the truck will not start and idle without my foot on the throttel. It miss/ knock/ sputter/ for about 20 seconds and when it warms up it idles at 700 out of gear and 650 in gear.

650 in gear is too low ... needs to be 900 in gear w/AC on ....

I had it reset a while ago and when I started experiencing the problems I listed in the other thread the idle dropped. The last 2 damn shops I took it to to try and fix the previous problem they never adjusted the idle even when I told them.
