I dont like playing the what year game. Working at a dealer you see all the goofy mistakes people make trying so save a buck and put a used PCM out of a different vehicle from a junk yard on. my advise is that you either purchase a PCM from the dealer, or purchase one from the exact same vehicle your working on.(match up part numbers) either way you will have to have the dealer program the new PCM to the truck so it can register the VIN and update the software to the latest version.

kieron....when my mech had the scanner plugged into my truck and the trans temp was supposedly 376 degrees, he crawled under and unplugged the sensor but nothing changed on the scanner screen.......should the scanner have been restarted or is my PCM potentially out as well??? - - - for being simple mechanical rigs these ol bears sure are confusing....
