Okay guys, so my farm just bought a new (to us) 3500 4x4 w/ 3.54 gears, 4 speed auto, dump bed on back and a hiniker snow plow, but it came with a few issues:

1. there's no dash lights or running lights when I turn on the lights
2. I seem to be having the over drive "hunting" issue as has been described in most forum research that i've seen
3. the driver side door hinge is way out of alignment and definitely needs a new top door hinge/ lots of adujustment

if you guys have any suggestions/ hints it would be greatly appreciated

If you guys could mention where I would best be spending my money for upgrades for the 94 it would also be greatly appreciated, I basically want to get it in excellent running shape for use as a chore/ gneck trailer truck, I am very much a DIY kind of guy so the more i can do myself for less money the better!

As for your hunting issue this could be a few things Take the truck to the dealer and get the free throttle linkage (Recall) will will tighten up the area of the TPS

Check your fuses for the lights , be sure to check the ones under the hood too

 

i'd check the switch for the lights. pull it out and it it looks melted where it plugs in replace it. also check all your fuses in the side of the dash. the hunting can be low on tranny fluid. it'll read full when idling in park.... BUT you need to check it when idling in neutral. mine was 1.5 qts shy og full when checking it that way. if all else fails it could be the TPS.....

 

You can take the TPS off and hit it with some de-electrical cleaner and see if that helps some. You can also pull the three wires out of the main wiring loom they run in and put them in their own loom. Sometimes electrical "noise" can screw up the signals in the wires. Third thing to try is to elongate the holes so you can adjust it slightly (takes a voltmeter) to get the voltage right. Last option would be a new TPS (bout $300 from Dodge).
