Default White smoke rough running untill warm

Hoping some of you may have been down this road. My 97 12 valve starts very well, fast. The grid heaters are working and do cycle after start. my problem is the truck smokes out the whole yard. dosent matter if i let it run for a half hour to warm up. shortly after driving the rough running clears up and white smoke goes away. the engine seems to have a noticable low rpm chatter at all temperatures. the truck does not ever stall and always starts very quick so i am pretty sure air is not getting in the fuel system.

little history,

i have about 5000 miles on complete engine rebuild. mahle marine pistons, head studs, .020 thicker marine head gasket, head and block resurfaced .010 each, 60lb valve springs, cummins factory replacment lift pump, new fuel filter, 4k governor springs, afc spring kit, #100 fuel plate full forward, timing set at 17 degrees- has been double checked, fuel pressure at injection pump is a constant 15-20 psi,
ddp2 injectors, factory turbo, k&n air intake, 4" exhaust

any ideas? is it due to the open dish marine style piston. i am pretty sure compression ratio
has not changed much if any at all. also i tried lowering the timing to factory settings. did not change. i swapped the injectors back to the 215's did not change. i even tried a new bosch overflow valve. by the way the injection pump has 300k on it. i do not remember the truck being this way before the engine was rebuild, but that was last winter...

does it run like mine? (once its started) It wont stay running unless i hold it to the floor, but it only revs to like 800 rpm and if you let off it at all it will die. This has 300,000 on it to

Wow thats a problem.

Mine will usually fire right up at that temp.

Did you have it plugged in when you took the video? Are you still running 15W40 oil? You might also want to add an oil pan heater.

No it wasnt plugged in, i didnt plan on having to start it that morning, and i run synthetic 15w-40, an oil pan heater would be nice. Get rid of that 20 second wait for oil pressure

I also have a 24V and 12V's are definitely cold blooded beasts.

Well, the only thing left to rebuild is the pump.

I'm going to put my money on that.
