help with high mileage 96 cummins

yep. burns oil and sucks coolant but i love it. only reason i'm getting rid of it is because i had to replace the cab and thats requiring a powerstroke. it is amazing to look back and see how far diesels have come. Any diesel from 94 up is competitive with todays standards and would not dissappoint although i wouldnt go with a detroit but thats just my preference. now that chevy has duramax you cant go wrong with whatever diesel you buy.

they lacked power but had high compression which is why the turbo's aren't high psi. my borg warner tranny will take a beating and my idi will do anything but make a lot of power and you will never hear me argue that powerstroke is better than duramax or cummins. i think they all bring a lot to the table and owning any of them is owning a good diesel however i dont like dodge trucks but i will admit thats not because of a personal experience. my dad owned one and had problems with the dodge from day one. not problems with a cummins. problems with a dodge. i've owned two fords and that's what i'll continue to buy. you will never have and machine with zero problems. everybody has there own preference but in the end you cant go wrong
