Pinion nut removal
I have a problem with the pinion nut, it doesn't want to come off!
I bought a 950ft lb loosening air impact wrench and its not doing the job. I'm stumped to why I can't get this pinion nut off. I have 1 5/16 socket which is the correct size. Someone please help! Am I over looking something small?

I assume you are changing the seal, and that is why it is coming off? You can heat the nut with a torch, it will expand the nut and loosen any loc-tite in the threads. Just don't get carried away.
will a propane torch get it hot enough?
