Default Pinion nut removal

I have a problem with the pinion nut, it doesn't want to come off! I bought a 950ft lb loosening air impact wrench and its not doing the job. I'm stumped to why I can't get this pinion nut off. I have 1 5/16 socket which is the correct size. Someone please help! Am I over looking something small?

I assume you are changing the seal, and that is why it is coming off? You can heat the nut with a torch, it will expand the nut and loosen any loc-tite in the threads. Just don't get carried away.

i have had to heat to get them off as well.

will a propane torch get it hot enough?

yes changing the seal on it, along with the front axle seals haha! That axle seal where the CAD is located is giving me hell!!! I would like to hit someone on the head with a hammer who thought of the bright idea of how those dodge front ends go together! SHEESH talk about a PIA!!!

benzomatic. Also i dont have a seal driver that big, what would someone recommend for driving that seal?

Red Loctite (assuming its on there) releases at around 300 deg F

Take a piece of exhaust pipe and a block of wood if you cant find one that fits get the next size smaller and stop at the local muffler shop and have it expanded to fit, also you're gonna need a hotter torch, oxy with acetylene or propane.
