Below 20* sounds about accurate. Is that with the high idle engaged?

No Im talking about the cylinder temps dropping and wetstacking at static idle (700-800) rpm.

Oh static idle gotcha. I was gonna say, w/ a high idle it shouldn't be wet stacking.

Theres nothing wrong with my thermostat - its from Cummins and isnt very old. And I have inserts for the grill.

After your truck has been idleing in the cold after using your remote start - what temperature is your pyrometer reading? also what is it reading after idleing an hour in the cold?

this morning I remote started my 91 at 42 degrees & let it run for approx 15 minutes I did check the pyro & it was just about 200 degrees Ive only had this truck for 4years but i put a remote start on it in a camp ground in Iowa & temps never got above +10 degrees in Jan & Feb I started it with the remote at -16 degrees quite a few mornings & never had a problem with fuel running past the rings I just started the 97 a few minutes ago at 49 degrees i will let it run for awhile & let you no what the pyro is reading I no your are taking about 20 degrees & colder this is just my opinion but i cannot understand not having a remote starter on any year diesel I just went out & checked the 97 after 18 minutes at 49 degrees & pyro reads 225 pre turbo so iam assuming that at 20 degrees it would be the same if not colder I dont mean to sound like a smart a$$ but I would not own a diesel without having a remote installed

And I personally wouldnt let my exhaust temp (preturbo) drop below 300 degrees.
