Hello, y'all
I just joined DB's in hope of getting some direction on how to get some added power out of the 5.9 in my '97 Blue Bird TC2000 short bus (25'). I am rather uninformed about diesels but have gathered from the forum that modifying the injector pump is the first step in that process. My goal is to allow for towing a vehicle (flat) and compensating for the additional weight added by conversion to a motorhome/camper setup. The limits to the upgrade would probably be the Allison 545 transmission which will (reportedly) only handle about 240 HP and 450 lb-ft of torque. I know, not much room to move! Anyway if there's any advice for me out there I would truly appreciate it.

slide your STOCK plate forward all the towards the front of the truck then back it off a hair. next on top of the afc u will see a allen wrench bolt it takes a good amount of power to get it to pop. after thats off u will see a teethy wheel (starwheel) turn it clockwise torwards the front about 3 or 4 good turns u can go all the way up then off a bit if u want. next on the back u will see two bolts holding a cover on. take them out or just one and bend the cover back sc rew that in about 4 turns or flesh with the locknut. its a all head too. next ur afc housing slides back and forward. slide the housing all the way forward then back a 1/8 inch. u may wanna straight pipe it for better airflow. be sure to get gauges also. and maybe a air intake. thats the basics. sorry no pics
