Auto Trans mod for 12v
Just bought my first 98 cummins ext cab long bed. completely stock and i would like to make some more power but before that i have heard i need to upgrade the trans. a buddy of mine has a triple plate converter shift kit and billet input(or output not sure???) shaft and a shift kit. if this is what i need what are your suggestions for a place to get these parts for not oo expensive??? i know they will be a lot but just wondering. and of it needs more or less let me know too. thanks

first of all.........how much HP are you wanting to make? What are you gonna be using it for? ex. DD, tow rig, drag truck, sled puller, etc.
Depending on that is where you base your tranny needs. How many miles are on the truck? Has the transmission been rebuilt that you know of?

I am not sure how much i want to make but the more the better. ill also use it once in a while to tow my jeep to go offroading. and my bad but its a 99 24valve i wasnt paying attention last night. the trans is new a year ago the truck has 178k on it now trans has 40k on it.
how much do you know about taking apart a tranny?
you can get the parts for a good price from DTT, and if you have the knowledge to install the stuff...it'll save you a good bit.
the big money comes when you add the billet input, output, or intermediate. they're about $700 i believe.
