what is the purpose of the auto shut down relay? i just had the truck runnin n i yanked it out, the truck stayed runnin. i shut it off, left the relay out, turned the key n the truck fired right back up. what does that asd relay do?

well good news, i might have just found it! i got pissed off, yanked my dash apart, n idk y but i pulled on the plug for where the O/D off button was n turned the key, check engine light came on, wait to start light came on, all i gotta do now is start it n see if my tach works. im gonna try to completely remove all the wiring for the plug out thru the firewall.
who knew my automatic could still give me problems when its layin on the garage floor.......
