i've checked my grounds. ok i have power to the pcm, but no power coming out of the wire for the tach. i've also noticed my check engine light doesn't come on. all of this is tellin me the pcm is bad, but i switched it with a good one out of my buddies truck n nothin changes. im assuming the grounds for the pcm are the black wires with tan tracers, since the wiring diagram shows them going nowhere. i have no idea what to even do anymore. i switched the alternator with a good one. should i just bump my insurance to full coverage and burn the mother****** to the ground??

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

quick question, why the hell does my truck have a fuel pump relay in it?

nope no need for a computer if running a manual tranny wireing was a cake walk just different sensors for the guages and a external voltage regulator to use the cummins altornator. ive got more wires going to all my lights than i do to make my truck work

the speedo n tach jump around. do u mean the sensor that goes in the tailshaft of the transfer case? if thats what it is i'll drive to elimsport n shake ur hand
whens the dyno? i went last time n had alot of fun, n im curious to see what im makin after the injectors n turbo get here.

well i took my pcm over to my buddies house n hooked it to his 94, the check engine light works then, but the tach doesnt n the voltage gauge says the alternator isnt chargin. but the same thing happens when i hook his pcm up to it (please God don't tell me i fried his pcm too....)
anyway, i checked the codes on my pcm and they are as follows
12
37
45
42
37 (again? maybe i missed a blink, might be a 47)
24
55 (end of sequence)

all of these codes are related to the auto trans which isn't in the truck anymore...

n i just talked to my buddy, n im pretty sure i did fry his computer too, so now i might be buyin 2.
anybody wanna come roast marshmallows when i torch this damn thing?

a fuse being bad should not cause you to fry his computer too. it is very hard to actually fry a computer unless you arc a wire out or start welding on the frame with battery still hooked up. it would be pretty hard to hurt his pcm just by throwing it in for testing purposes

well i know everything in his truck worked when i borrowed his computer, but now his tach doesn't work n his alternator isn't chargin.

i just bumped the switch n i noticed my turn signals blink really slow. how can i bypass the pcm n still make all my gauges n lights work. i know u can hook up an external voltage regulator to fix the alternator problems, but how am i gonna make the tach n speedo work?

electricity makes absolutely no sense... it just pisses me off.
