There are some parts yards around here, but they suck. Sounds like you have as many parts yards as we have Star$ucks. As for parts, the main things on my list of things I need are more than I would think you would donate... Colt stage 3 Cam, 90HP injectors, 4K GSK, 60# springs, Air dog, you know all of the stuff you would want on your truck if you were looking to make a easy 500 HP that can also run WVO so nothing too crazy. If you have any of those parts used I could buy them off you.

Also I am looking for a 15' long section of 3/8" aluminum tube and 15' of 3/4"id fuel hose, for the Hose inHose heater.

Anyways, you RocK!!

It has been 94+ here for a while making for slow progress. My grinder was too hot to handle after only a few cuts, the axle became very hot after a only a few inches. I had to keep cooling the axle to keep it from weakening the temper on the axle. But I did get some stuff done yesterday.

I am working on the rear triangulated 4-link, I had to build a mount for the upper links to give me a level surface to mount the links on. Unfortunately there is a cross support where I need to mount the links, so I am going to need to cut it out, weld in the links then re-install the cross support. I also moved the rear axle back about a foot to address the cross support issues.

Please feel free to post comments or concerns.

Double pass welded, filled in and ready for grinding sanding and paint.

you dont need fly cut pistons for a stage three colt cam its the "big stick" nor hd pushrods 60lb springs yes for 4k but all it sounds like is a mild build...... 350 to 400 ish hp. will make for a nice driver w good torque. keep up the good work buddy commen along nice

Thanks!

I am looking for about 500Hp for now. I was planning the 60lb springs, and 4K GSK and the cam for now. I want to go through the engine fix up the innermost parts and upgrade the rest later if I find more money or want more power.

I am building it to roll around town is comfort, and be able to haul product to the port.
I just landed a sale of a pallet of product to Ireland, I am so excited about that.

I am looking for good fuel economy because I will take this on road trips around the country for the business. I am also going to run waste vegetable oil so I have to be careful that the mods do not limit the possibility of running oil instead of diesel.

I went to the shop today and was working on the air bags in the rear. I am glad I double checked the suggested ride height for my bags, I built the truck for the bags at zero PSI not compressed, but the bags ride well at about 2" compressed... So now I get to build a cool mount for the upper bag mounts, something that sets them 2" below the frame rail. The other good part of this is that the bag will not quite reach full compression (in case of a failure) when the frame hits the bump stops. And for those paying attention I am planning to have 4 airbags just in the rear each one is rated for 5,000LBS so I can load 20,000 lbs on the rear axle and everyhting is just fine

I am so excited to have the rear axle coming together, meaning I am getting closer to having a rolling chassis again, I already have the engine all mocked in so I am getting closer to driving!

I just recently joined D.B.and read about your truck, that 39 dodge is going to be one hell of a nice truck, and looks like your not afraid of having to do it yourself, I also have always done everything myself from paint to rebuilding my own automatic transmissions, I did the wiring from scratch on my first truck when I was 15, will be watching your build, and if I see you doing something (like going down wrong road on a part... ) that I have been true I will try and save you some time, anyways keep plugging away at it you have already come a long way. If I can help you with anything just ask me. https://www.dieselbombers.com/images...ome_senile.gif

Thank you. No I have never been afraid to get my hands dirty and try things myself. Everything is simple at it's base level, building a house is just sticks, nails screws etc. I figured the truck was the same thing, bolts, cutting metal, welding etc. If and when it is wrong I just re-do it untill it is correct. I could have saved time and money if the firewall was done right the first time, but the second time it came out better.

I think the hardest part of building a truck, a house or anything is that you work and work for a long time and do not really see any results then all of a sudden it all comes together and it pays off. It is easy to become discouraged just before it is done.
