i could almost guarantee its the crankshaft positioning sensor (aka throttle positioning sensor) or tps
just replaced mine, wouldnt allow torque converter to lock up or shift into forth, shifts great now...

a crank sensor is completely different than a throttle positioning sensor. i would check the sticky on how to adjust the tps and see it that helps. but i believe 1st through 3rd are all hydraulically controlled and then electrically controlled in 4th, OD and also torque converter lock up. check the plug on the transmission and find out which wire is the keyed power source for the tranny plug. start there and make sure your transmission is gettin an electrical signal. im not a transmission specialist so unfortunately i cant help a ton but if im remembering correctly (1st-3rd being hydraulic) id say you have some sort of internal transmission problem.

have someone in the truck shift it through the gears and lay underneath it and make sure the tv cable is moving as it should. it might just be jamming and only allowing it in first
