Default Why does my truck make a popping sound?

When i mash the throttle it pops out the exhaust and dumps a lot of blueish/white smoke and has no power. It does it really bad when its cold and a little when its up to normal operating tempature. Its kinda imbarrasing any help. Thank you

Im not sure about the popping sound. But have you ever changed your overflow valve? I would do that first - use an original Bosch overflow valve.

It could also be slipped timing. if the overflow valve doesnt fix it - have your injector pump timing checked.

low fuel pressure, slipped timing.. just some stuff 2 think about

air leak in the fuel system will also cause a poping sound

classic sign of slipped timing but all the others will result in the same thing.

mine does it at max rpm??? always thought it was fuel cut. Did it before and after i got my pump timmed and sounds a little differently with new turbo??

a couple of local people here in town told me there was a check ball with a spring in the pump and the spring gets wore out and starves it for fuel. i dnt know what they r talking about. It has a new lift pump so i will check the overflow valve and have the timing checked.

Mine did it pretty bad when i stomped it before i got my airdog, it would only get to about 3200 then it started popping, its because it was defueling, now it'll go all the way past 4k no problem, but it could also be timing, you should fill out your sig too, so we know what you're workin with
