Default Body or Engine swap?

ok my 97 dodge has rusted out rocker's. I have been told that its just a better option to swap the cab and not fix the rockers. engine and trans would be pulled and fully gone through seals and such if i'm going through this much work might as well do it all!

my question is:

should i do which of these:

1. replace cab

2. find compleate donor truck and swap engine/trans

3. find a 1980-86 0r 93-97 4dr ford 350 and swap it al in there.

4. put the truck back together o-ringed head studs and my super b single then sell it with everything for the twins and lift for $8,000 and find another truck later and start over. ie get a truck body and interior perfect then mod another truck?

this truck ran amazing when together never had a problem except the stock converter slipping

ps. im not a welder and only have my 2 car garage to do this all in.

i kinda agree, sell it for what you can get and get another one if you can, or swap the body. that would def be easier than trying to swap drivetrains. if you find a good body, scour your friend base for someone who knows someone with a lift and you've got a weekend project instead of a big pain in the ***.

i can tell ya that trying to do a cab swap ib a 2 car garage without any sort of hydraulics just isnt going to happen. cabs are alot heavier than most people would assume. if it were me and i liked my truck i would just get replacement rockers and just pay a good body shop guy on the side to put em in and be done with the headache. sometimes a few bucks is well worth the headaches

I looked at jsut replacing the rockers. but hte cab has other rust holes in the bottom. It needs a new cab. I realy love the truck and really would just like to fix it. so I guess i'll have to find a budy to help heck everybody out here has a shop its oil field country

only problem with that is then you have a gas vin number and youll have a nightmare with dmv. you need to find another dodge diesel cab so your paperwork is legit. dont talk about switchin vin plates either thats prison time if you get caught
