I wanted to upgrade my sound system in my truck so I went to Crutchfield and filled out the specs of my truck to see what would fit and it turns out only one shizy set of 6x9s fit or I have to go to a smaller size of speaker. I want 6x9s because of their power so I decided to see why nothing was fitting. I took the door panel off and I think nothing fits cuz the window will roll down and hit the back of the speaker.... The 6x9s I want to get are POLK AUDIO MM691 but they "don't fit" has anyone tried mounting the speakers through the plastic panel? That would give it more depth to fit wouldn't it? Can I see some pics and things of solutions you guys have found concerning this problem?

dremel tool or roto zip make them fir pretty easily. just make sure theyre not deeper than the door. and just take the old speaker out and check where the window goes to know if the speakers will clear the window or not. odds are itll probably fit with a little trimming

 

i replaced all of mine with infinity reference series speakers and the 6x9's fit in there perfectly and they are great speakers too
