Just bought a 96 dually and it is wired up with a extra voltage regulator on it but it wont charge and the altenator is good so im going to go get a new regulator for it but can somebody give me an idea on how to wire it up write. they had a switch wired into it. is this needed thanks.

use a 2 pin dodge regulator. The plug looks like it should have 3 poles but only 2 are there. Center one goes to one field wire and one ignition on. The other wire goes to the other field wire.

I had back luck with a defective ford regulator. Bye bye 2 optimas, blaupunkt deck and all lamps.
