Default Missing after sitting

My 98 misses after I leave it set for an hour or so.
It idles fine ,but when I give it fuel it smokes blue and misses for a minute or two then clears up.

sounds like possible air in the fuel line. after its running and driving for a while does it start right back up and run good?

if so id be willing to bet either your letting air in the lines somewhere or your lift pump is going bad

Yeah If I run it and get it warm I can shut it off it will start up and be fine. It happens when it sits for awhile.

ya you must be gettin air in the lines. check everywhere for leaks. or if your lift pump is going bad itll allow some of the fuel to drain back down the lines so its got air in it when it starts up after sitting for a while

what motor is in the 98? 12v or 24v?

either way it sounds like you have some cracked rubber hoses between the injection pump and the fuel tank. it happens to us all one time or another.

could be an injector issue too. but check the lines first. then the little brass washers on top of the fuel filter. and the injector return lines and the injector lines.

Doesnt sound like an injector issue to me, small air leak is what it sounds like.

same thing has happened to my 12v replaced all the rubber hose and still does it, replaced overflow valve found out i was running on low fuel pressure but still defuels after sitting, found my selfpriming bulb is leaking on the stock lift pump, so im dealing with it for now till the money tree blooms for a airdog or something along those lines check the lift pump there are a few o rings that can go bad and let air in and i believe there might be a rebuild kit if not i think i found stock lift pumps for around 85-100 bucks
