i dont think you can hook up a swith for it on these mechanical motors. i have heard of guys running a cable into the cab to set the idle. You might be able to rig up a stepper motor somehow but i tend to stay away from electricity.

it can be done electrically, or just wedge a stick between the seat and the pedal thats what ive done all winter, fully adjustable

A lot of people use a choke-cable. Mount it on the dash next to the steering wheel and attach it to the throttle bracket somehow. Just pull the choke cable to the desired hi-idle speed and there ya go.

I used the stick method all winter and it worked great...plus it was free. Just curious, but what RPM's do you guys raise the idle to?

i do the stick method too works great all winter and with the power seat you can set the idle to whatever you want, i raise mine to a grand to warm up a bit during the winter. the stick doubles great to self prime the truck to from the driver side fender if needed

Someday I'd like to take the time to figure out how to make the cruise control work as a high idle. I'm no electrical engineer, but there has to be some way to send power to the accuator.

Pretty sure the actuator is vacuum operated; when it recieves vacuum, it holds it in place (or something to that affect..)
