2,000 is basically vertical on the RPM needle, right? (correction: it's a little before 12'oclock)
I'd say the RPM needle is at about the 11 o'clock position when I'm at 70, on OD. (correction: At 2,000, I'm exactly on 70 mph.) 4th has the two needles about sync'ed together.
Top speed is about 98 or about that. So it does some massive defueling, after the RPM needle passes the 12 o'clock position.
Sticker under the hood states, 3.5. And I'm pretty sure the truck is untouched. Mainly, being that when I bought it back in '01 or so, it only had 32K on the odometer.
