I Am Completely Stumped Coolant Loss
Get under the truck on the passenger side and look up at the exhaust manifold.
12v's are known to crack the cylinder head inbetween cylinders 5 and 6 and it will start out as a small leak or coolant loss that you can not find. What it does is leak down the side of the block and over the bellhousing blowing back underneath the truck. It may not even show until the crack gets worse and it really starts to leak.
Mine started as your did many years ago and the only way I knew I had an issue was a faint coolant smell and adding to the overflow bottle about once a week.As the crack got worse it was easy to find as it began leaving puddles when it was parked.

i looked at another one today that they wanted me to put a new thermostat in. they thought it was leaking. it was the head gasket not the T housing. hes pissed. he had it done less than a year ago on a stock engine.
