Default help 47re cummins conversion

i have a 1952 gmc on a 1980 chevy 4x4 frame and a 1997 2500 4x4 dodge diesel.i want to put the cummins and 47re in my 52.i already have the dana 60 from a 79 f350 and complete 97 dodge i drove for three years that is completely stock.i am trying to figure out if i can use the stock dodge computer for the tranny or will i have to use a stand alone computer.i have not touched the dodge yet so i have everything would just like some info so i can get started.the 52 is currently 355 chevy,turbo 350,dana 44 front,full floating 14 bolt rear,35 swampers.looking for the cheapest solution for tranny so i can get a converter,fuel plate,boost elbow ect. thanks

you would probably be better off running a manual? so you wouldnt have to **** with computer... otherwise take the computer out and put it in the old truck and all of the wiring,

or you could get an older auto.. like 400 or older alison

im not certain on this but ive heard talk of a few companies making stand alone computers for those transmissions. you might want to look into that

Suncoast has standalone controllers for the 47RE. RH's are better for the swap as they don't need the controller.

If you have the stock Dodge computer, it shouldn't be hard to wire it up. There's only a couple of wires that you need to make it work. I would personally use the stock Dodge computer if it was mine.

thanks for the info! i thought 47re were stronger than 47rh am i wrong on thinking that?i would also like to stick with the newer style tranny since i already have the ford dana 60,would really like to ditch dana 44 and make the drivetrain bulletproof.trying to keep on the cheap since it runs good now and wife so far is on board,new baby and all.

I don't know how the speedo will work. Dodge uses the rear wheel speed sensor on the diff. Doesn't effect trans function though.
