Even after those mods, it still got 26mpg best, 22mpg avg, and 19mpg hooked. I loved that truck
Ya thats exactly how I feel. This truck will get it when it needs to now. NO comparison to stock, and this thing would run circles around my 7.3 6spd psd that I was comparing it to. And I've barely begun my list of mods hehe. Well ok, maybe i'm half way thru but still the other mods are going to be significant. Were you able to burn out in your dually w/ the fuel plate? I haven't had the guts to try yet and I've been shifting like grandma so I dont blow the clutch.

ya gassers what a waste of time. Diesel all the way But I may consider getting a common rail in a few years (if I get bored of my 12v)

Ya I was ******* the **** out of my truck after I did the exhaust, intake and plate. Got a 14mpg all city. I'm going on a 12 hour round trip saturday where I was getting 19.33 mpg before all my mods. I'll report back after I return my highway mileage.

Hmmm..
I always get a good chuckle out of guys when they start threads like this. You look over their respective signatures with their list of mods and research their past posts and then you come back and reread about their whining of no fuel milage.

Performance mods and fuel milage usually do not go hand in hand.If its fuel milage you want then IMO you should have left the truck stock or bought yourself a import truck.

Fuel milage is so over-rated

I'm not sure I follow, since import trucks get THE worst mileage ratings compared to us trucks, and secondly the easier a diesel breathes and fuels the better mileage it gets. Its a win-win with these. And since cummins is notorious as bneing the mileage king I couldn't fathom why my STOCK 12v got 11mpg

Well I'm pissed. From NY to hagerdstown MD, 6 hours 1-way, I maintained a steady 68-71mph. Very easy on the throttle, only 3 peopel in the truck and 1k lbs of sand bags in the bed. Averaged like 16 measly mpg!! Wtf??? When my truck was stock, had a 3year old fuel filter and air filter all gunked up, stock exhaust and no plate i got 19.33mpg going 80-85 VERY consistantly. Now that I'm modded and in theory should be getting better mileage, I got TERRIBLE mileage. Perhaps I got really REALLY bad winter-blend fuel before going to MD? I dunno.
On the way back from MD, I was pissed and said f*ck it and ran like 80-85mph. I'm still on the same tank of fuel with a tick over quarter tank left, and I've ragged this tank a few times out of angst for pooey mileage. Whats happening? Is my afc tuned really bad or something? Would what be causing this poor mileage?

I know one thing; I raced some newer volkswagen gti and turbo audi today, and lets just say from a 60 roll up till like 90mph they were getting further and further away
