puting a 6 speed in a 12 valve
Now i'm a bit worried. I have 255k on my stock (i think) 5spd.. should I start worrying about a replacement trans?
you folks that go through nv4500 need to either learn how drive a standard, get the right fluid or just quit makin so much power... cause 3 of my family members that have nv4500s in there dodges have all 3 gone over 250,000 with out a rebuild. 1 is a dailydriver, the other 2 are farm houling trucks, a;; 3 4x4. 1 hasnt even ever had a clutch replaced yet and its over 270k. i know my truck only has 97,000 on it and i just replaced the clutch, i had new bearings and sycncros installed to even though it was all fine in there and drove good. i fully expect this tranny to last at least another 100k
i know it aint the shifting fork it the pin things idk what their called 1 of them trys to go out instead of in im probly gonna have to replace it because the tranny has over 300k hauling miles on it and i've been runnig a stock clutch on it with a #10 fuel/torque/cam plate on it now the clutch is burned up on it o and i got a bad oil leak comin from the front of the engine and when i open it up it blows the oil stick blows out does anyone know what the problem is there
I have a guy in amarillo that builds mine. synchros, bearings and updated output shaft only ran me $925 last time. the place is Turbo Exchange and he told me if his best guy cant build 8 trannies a day he don't need him
