Default Overhead Console

I broke the clips on my overhead console over the weekend installing my gauges on my overhead pod. First off, mine doesn't have the temperature display, but I found one with the display for a good price. What is needed to make this overhead console work in my truck? I really dont care if the display works, but I would like the lights to still be functional.

It should be very easy to wire the lights if the wiring isnt there already.

Would be nice to have the temperature reading and that should be as simple as installing the sensor . But Im guessing.

The one I'm looking at on ebay, has the wiring for the thermometer and the probe. I'll get around to getting all that in eventually, but I just want to make sure the harness for the lights would work.

All the wiring looks pretty straight forward, I just don't know where to run the probe yet, but I'll figure that out later if I get it

I believe the factory location for the sensor is down somewhere behind the bumper.

I'll look into that. The length of wire in the picture looks like it would goes into the engine bay, pretty much right out side the firewall

IIRC, the probe is mounted on the hood, right behind the grill.

After some research, it looks like I need to do a lot of work to make this work and I guess I'll be making a trip to the dealer to do it. From what I've learned is that I'll be trading out both visors for the lighted vanity ones, auto dimming rear view mirror, and then the new overhead with the temperature and compass. All of that plugs into one wiring harness from what I understand
