There is a pump in the tank but you can find just a sending unit on ebay. im having the same problem but im gona pull my bed this week end. here is a link for the sending unit http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-67...d=350329939844

You can go to a dealer and just get the sending unit. It was like 75 just the the float and every thing. I put that in mine and i'm still having trouble.

I'm dealing with this too on my 96 as long as i keep it over 1/2 tank and i don't stop to fast it's ok LOL I will be checking on that connection Thanks for the heads up!!!
