yehhh id say somethins wrong with your boost gauge..... 40 pounds is ALOT for that little fuel.... as stated above me... not to mention anything above 35lbs and your turbo is just push hot air you timing prob slipped so i would have it reset to factory or even have it bumped up a little...

when i change the timing how do i advance it and when i do how many degrees would help me out with fuel mileage

Set it about 15* you will eiher need the kit or to take it to someone to have it timed.
