Does the pedal stick down or does it come back up with your foot. This will tell you if the cable is bad or the spring is shot in the throttle lever.

I can put my foot under the pedal and pull it to me, the rpms fall some but not just down to idle. Theres some slack in the cable under the hood. I'll check on that spring

Look here - Recall #970 - throttle cable

Is this a stock truck? Or do you have aftermarket gsk springs?

I had the recall done on my truck a couple years ago.

Throttle return spring probably snapped. Although, if the recall wasn't done yet, it'll be a free repair. This just happened to me. I felt something in the accelerator give about 4 weeks ago. Called the local dealer about the recall about 2 week later. And it took about another 2 weeks before the dealership received the part. They probably received it earlier, but they never called me. I had to call them.

I just had it repaired this last Monday. Other than me having to waiting for 2 1/2 hours for it to be done, it didn't cost me a cent. Pedal is very stiff, now and returns very quickly.
